The day of accomplishments

December 30th, 2011 | Thoughts and opinions | 0 Comments

I’d like to call this day, the 30th of December 2011, the day of accomplishments. Why? Simply because of the things that I’ve done today, both things I’ve done before, and new things.

Here’s the list:

  • Tried to speak to a Japanese person -For the first time. I’ve never had a chance to use my super-tiny Japanese vocabulary before, so that was cool. Even though I was completely lost.
  • Eaten reindeer -I’ve eaten that today. Never done that before, and I liked it.
  •  Presented the Runic script to a non-European -That was just fun. (No, that wasn’t a Japanese person)
  • Started reading a book -technically, I did it yesterday, but I’ve read more today. Reason to be happy? Yes.
  • Almost lost my chance to go for a walk, but I managed it! -I’ve been outside every day for almost 2 years, and I almost lost my chance to go for a walk, but I managed to do so, which made me happy.

I need to read more

I’m going to become a better reader next year. That’s my very first New Year’s resolution. Reading is not something I do very often, but I want to at least try to become a better reader, and read as many books as possible.

The picture shows all my Lindquist books and the DVD for the film “Let the right one in”. The books are all in Swedish.

In the middle of the night

December 17th, 2011 | Personal, Thoughts and opinions, Uncategorized | 1 Comment

It’s Sunday the 18th of December. The last Sunday before Christmas, and the 2nd last of the whole year. That’s a wee bit weird, isn’t it?

To make it weirder, it’s now 00:21, and I started writing this entry 18 minutes after midnight. To make it even more funny.

It’s of course dark outside, and quite cold. The snow had melted for a few days before it snowed again. More snow, more ice.  Something that came to my mind a few days ago was the fact that “It’s safer to walk in the middle of the road than on the pavement”. All because of the ice that appeared after a period of melting and cooling. The pavements where quite dangerous to walk on, but the road was better because of the cars that had been driving there.

However, it’s not that late. The so-called “night buses”  haven’t started driving around yet. I think taking that as an argument for telling whether it’s late or not is a good idea. When you’re not asked to talk about how people feel. I’m a wee bit tired, but felt like writing something, just to give you an example about  how I feel.

But the Christmas holiday is coming up in a few days. I’m looking forward to that. Mostly for the purpose of sleeping.

19. 10 questions I don’t know the answer to

October 31st, 2011 | 30 days, Fictional stuff, Thoughts and opinions | 1 Comment

  1. What happened before the Big Bang?
  2. How many people is this planet able to handle?
  3. Will it ever be possible to travel to the future?
  4. How many universes are there out there?
  5. If the universe is expanding, what is it expanding in?
  6. Do we know whether the life span of the universe has a start and an ending, or is it repeating itself -like an eternity?
  7. Does the colour I think of as green looks green (according to my standards) to you, or is it just the fact that we’ve been told that that colour is called green?
  8. In exactly 100 years, which languages will have died, and are any new languages created?
  9. Will we ever get a true definition of perfectionism that is to the point and understandable for all different cultures (because that’s the only definition of perfectionism that I accept)?
  10. When will the criminals in Oslo be gone?

Here you go, a list of questions I don’t know the answer to. Anyway, if you haven’t done it already, relax, I’m not expecting you to know the answers.

18. Oslo

October 30th, 2011 | 30 days, Thoughts and opinions | 0 Comments

I just saw this event-thing on Facebook. The title said “It’s enough”, and it was about Oslo as a safe town, or the fact that Oslo isn’t that safe -really. And it’s true. Oslo isn’t safe. In fact, it can quite dangerous sometimes.

We have, over several weeks heard about a lot of murders in Oslo. How many murderers are there out there? Who is the next victim? The last one, and probably the most unique one, had the word “God” written on the wall in blood. Feels like it could be taken from one of those crime series that they show on telly all the time?? Scary.

Also, we have the 22 July. The bomb. I didn’t even know there were any terrorists in this country, but. I don’t have to say anything else. I’m still as shocked as I was then. There is no other way of describing it.

In addition, I remember reading about a flat exploding when someone tried to make drugs…

And there are a lot of people being raped as well.

So, is Oslo safe? Obviously not…

15. Music

October 27th, 2011 | 30 days, Thoughts and opinions | 0 Comments

I’m at the moment listening to Global Deejays. It’s actually a quite rare activity to me, but I’ve got some kind of a trance/house/ heavy beat addiction at the moment. The bigger the chance that the beat will make your ears explode, the better. Heavy beats, and dancing!

However, that doesn’t describe my music taste as all. I have quite a varied music taste, but I try to avoid radio music because it’s often boring. I like a lot of different genres and artists  most people I talk to’ve never heard about. Not that I really care -it’s okay as long as I listen to music that affects my way of thinking in one or another way.

One of the genres I’ve loved the longest has to be 2000′s pop. I think the pop music that came out around 2000 is better than the music that is released today. Not that I know why, to be honest. That’s just me.

I’m also a huge fan of Industrial electronica and metal. These genres usually covers a mixture between screaming, beats and metal. I like this. I like the way these people express themselves, while they at the same time create such a huge variation. Some are really though, others are more like djs, and someone might be more fun. I like that too.

A genre I explored about a year ago is called psytrance. This genre suits my beliefs perfectly because the music covers things related to quantum mechanics. J’aime!

And; Surprise! I like jrock and jpop too. It’s fun to listen to, and I like the way they express themselves.

Also; Recently, I’ve started listening to Japanese hip hop, and I love it. This is quite weird because; First of all. I hate Norwegian hip hop. It’s the worst genre in the whole wide world, and you should know that. Secondly; I listen to English hip hop, but not a lot. I think that genre is okay, but I’m not a huge fan of it.

12. What You Believe

October 24th, 2011 | 30 days, Thoughts and opinions, Uncategorized | 0 Comments

I’m an atheist. That means that I don’t believe in any God. However, my beliefs are more related to the universe and time, rather than praying. On the other hand, keep in mind that I respect everyone’s beliefs. It’s up to you, not me.

First of all, I believe there exists several universes. For every thing we do, a multiple new universes with alternative outcomes will be created. We don’t know whether this universe is the original one, or if it as created a few seconds ago.

I also believe that there is no start and no stop when it comes to time. This is one was hard for me to realise, but is actually the alternative that makes the most sense to me. Since no one can explain what happened before big bang, it’s easier for me to think that the universe acts like our lungs. That it’s increases until it reaches a certain point, before it decreases and create an explosion (big bang). Also; it has always been like this, no start, no stop.

09. Speaking Japanese

October 21st, 2011 | 30 days, Personal, Thoughts and opinions, Uncategorized | 0 Comments

I made a video of me speaking Japanese today! The reason I made this video was mainly because I wanted to try it, and I wanted to practise my skills. However, I’m not that good yet, and I have a strong accent.

08. A Place You’ve Traveled To

October 20th, 2011 | 30 days, Personal, Photo, Thoughts and opinions | 1 Comment

This one is also a bit hard. I’ve been travelling to so many places -all over Europe, to lots of different countries.

Well, my favourite country so far has to be Denmark. I’m a total Denmark freak, and going to Denmark makes me happy. The Danish countryside is one of the most beautiful countrysides I’ve ever seen. I can’t really describe it, it’s like a relaxing, yet inspiring atmosphere that I haven’t seen any other place. It’s so quiet and organised compared to the Norwegian countryside which is full of valleys. I’m basically in love with the Danish countryside landscape.
